Maletiempu: traditional Italian folk in…Gugulethu! Sat 1 Dec. at 4pm

Dear Friends of Italy and of Italian Music,

Please join us for a different afternoon of music and friendship between Italy and South Africa this Saturday, 1 December 2018 at 4pm in Gugulethu!

After showing Opera in the township of Langa in 2015, we are partnering again with local music association Jazz in the Native Yards in order to keep venturing in new venues in Cape Town, possibly “off the beaten track”. This time, thanks to the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Pretoria, we are bringing the Italian folk duo of Rachele Andreoli and Rocco Nigro all the way from Salento, the ‘heel’ of Italy (if you look at its geographical shape as a ‘boot’), to Gugulethu! They will play mostly from their latest album “Maletiempu”, and will jam on the occasion with South African musicians Carlo Fabe and Valentino Europa (I know they sound Italian as well…but they’re from Cape town!). Kindly see the flyer attached.

The address is KWASEC NY. 138 No. 52, Gugulethu, but the easiest way to find the venue is to simply search “Jazz in the Native Yards” on Google maps.

The entrance is free, and there will be car guards to keep your vehicles safe.

I hope to see many of you this Saturday in Gugulethu, to hear some great folk music and to meet new friends!

With my best regards,

Alfonso Tagliaferri
